the fragmented odyssey

the fragmented odyssey is an original acrylic mixed media painting done on two 12" x 36" canvases. Butterflies, to me, signify growth and perseverance. They are the epitome of changing one's circumstance, exceeding expectations and doing what's required to reach a higher form of existence. I made this piece when I was going through a very similar experience. A form of metamorphosis occurred. The lessons, however, came as fragments. Understanding bits of a whole. A seemingly endless journey. 
 
This piece will come completed with a glass-like resin finish.
